Cory McKenna

Cory McKenna

Cory knows better than most how important creation apologetics are for defending and affirming the Gospel. He was dramatically converted to Christ and later attended Bible College, where he graduated with highest honours. After having served as a teaching pastor for a number of years, it was Cory’s friend, congregant, and now fellow CMI speaker, Calvin Smith, who challenged him to correctly handle the word of truth—starting from the very first verse! Thankfully, this confrontation catalyzed a search for truth down the road of worldview and origins that Cory has been joyfully pursuing ever since. Along the way, the Lord also ignited in Cory a passion to teach creation apologetics in the context of preaching the Gospel.

Cory founded The Cross Current (TCC), a local missions ministry and outreach broadcast that partners with leaders and their local churches to spread the Gospel in Canada. Each week Cory leads witnessing teams to the front lines on the streets sharing the Gospel, praying for people, and ministering to their needs. Cory uses CMI resources to equip evangelists in creation apologetics, and continues to experience the value of CMI’s teaching on the streets first-hand.

Cory is an ordained minister, former sales executive, youth/young adult pastor, and evangelism and discipleship pastor. He has street witnessed and open air preached in many Canadian cities including Toronto, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, and Halifax and also many American cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Hollywood, and Dallas. The convergence of his experience as a sales professional, pastor, evangelist, and apologist enables Cory to creatively and dynamically communicate truth and to personally connect with people from virtually all sectors of society.

Cory and his wife Dawn both come from Halifax, Nova Scotia. They currently live in London, Ontario, with their two sons, Joshua and Caleb.
