Summary: We prefer colour TIFF, JPEG or PSD files at 300 dpi and/or with image size of at least 1200 pixels wide. Anything less will probably not be good enough for printing, especially at a reasonable size. Also see Image Quality.

Thank you for your interest in submitting photos or graphics for our general use.
We appreciate and need photos of all kinds of things for our graphic designers, especially animals, plants, landscapes, scientific objects and settings, archaeology, paleontology etc.
Before submitting illustrations or photos, please click here to download and complete our Photo Permission form to be mailed with your images. This signed form covers the photos you are currently sending plus ones you supply in the future.

If you don’t know much about image quality for publications, please click here.
We love to receive images with embedded meta-data such as who to credit and a description or keywords. If you know how to do this (eg. with Microsoft Photo Info), please do, as it will save us some time.
