Henry Smith, M.A.R. in Apologetics and Languages

Biography

Henry B. Smith Jr. was converted to Christ at age 28, and soon after his miraculous transformation, Henry became passionately interested in the creation-evolution debate. Educated to believe in evolution and millions of years, Henry quickly discovered that these ideas were incompatible with the Bible. By the grace of God, the evolutionary scales fell off Henry’s eyes almost immediately. He soon realized, though, that evolution causes many Christians to struggle and that the church is in need of edification, training, and encouragement in this foundational area. Creation magazine and the Journal of Creation were an integral part of Henry’s own journey and training.

Henry is presently the Administrative Director of the Khirbet el-Maqatir archaeological excavations in Israel (the city of Ai in Joshua 7-8). Henry also worked as a volunteer at the biblical excavations at Hazor (see Joshua 11) in 2007. He served as adjunct professor for archaeological courses for the Institute for Creation Research’s School of Online Biblical Apologetics and for God’s Bible College, Ohio.

Henry graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University in 1992. With a 13-year sales and management background, he earned an M.A. in Theology with an emphasis on apologetics from Trinity Seminary in Indiana, graduating with high honors in 2005. In the fall of 2014, Henry graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary with an M.A.R., emphasizing biblical languages/exegesis and presuppositional apologetics.

Henry currently lives in eastern Pennsylvania with his wife Birzavit and his daughter, Ava.
