過去數十年間不斷湧現新證據,把人類恢復到神造的宇宙的中心。天文學家已經確認星系紅移的數值是「量子化的」,傾向于落入分離的小組。根據哈勃定律,星系紅移的大小與該星系到我們(銀河系【星河】)的距離成正比。因此,星系離我們的距離也會分成小組。這意味著所有的星系傾向于組成以我們的家鄉星系為中心的球狀殼。這些球狀殼之間的距離是一百萬光年的量級。只有在觀測位置與宇宙中心的距離小於一百萬光年的情況下才能觀測到清晰的紅移分組現象。地球處於宇宙中這樣一個獨一無二的位置的幾率小於一萬億分之一。由於大爆炸理論者預先假設宇宙有一個自然主義的開端,不可能有一個獨特的中心,所以他們一直為這個現象苦苦地尋求其它解釋,至今尚無明顯進展。這樣看來,紅移的量子化成為以下觀點的佐證:(1)反對大爆炸理論,(2)支援「河心說」(以銀河系【星河】為中心的宇宙學),就像金特立(羅伯特•金特立Robert Gentry)在一本書或我本人在《星光與時間》(Starlight and Time)中所提出的。
