Hawking's 'master race' vision? The famous physicist, Stephen Hawking, reportedly believes that genetic engineers will create 'improved' superintelligent human beings within a few hundred years by circumventing the brain-size constructure of a mother's birth canal. He insists genetic engineering of humans is inevitable, admitting it will cause great social and political problems. The paper quotes Prof. Hawking as saying: 'It may not be in accord with democratic or egalitarian principles, but evolution has never been politically correct.' Metro, 27 November 2000, p.11.
