‘Do you actually expect me to believe that Adam and Eve populated the whole world?’

From L., Canada, who declined permission for her full name to be used.

Her letter is printed first in its entirety. Her letter is printed again, with point-by-point responses by Dr Don Batten, interspersed as per normal e-mail fashion.

I was reading your Q&A section about creation and I don’t think you should be talking about how scientists are wrong about evolution and how people were created! I noticed that you only put the remarks that disproved evolution not the long list of acutal [sic] proof. Of course theories are going to have some uncertainties but there are a lot more certainties than uncertainties! I also noticed that you somehow forgot to mention everything that proves there is no god! If evolution isn’t how humans were created, then how were they created? Do you actually expect me to believe that adam and eve populated the whole world? I don’t think so! If that were true, everyone in the world would be inbred and retarded! Another question I read was about atheists who will never be able to prove there is no god because they can’t ever be everywhere in the universe at one time! well i guess christians can’t prove there IS a god then because christians cant be in the whole universe at once either!

Dear L.,Please see my responses interspersed below.

I was reading your Q&A section about creation and I don’t think you should be talking about how scientists are wrong about evolution and how people were created!

Are you advocating censoring alternative viewpoints? That’s not very egalitarian. But then ‘all men are created equal’ is not something that comes from the evolutionary belief in a dog-eat-dog world of survival of the fittest. It’s ironic how many that espouse ‘liberal’ views are so illiberal when it comes to those they disagree with!

I noticed that you only put the remarks that disproved evolution not the long list of acutal [sic] proof.

We hardly need to teach people about evolution, since the schools, television, newspapers, colleges and universities continually indoctrinate us with it. Hardly anyone escapes being evolutionized, and clearly that applies to you! I even met an illiterate man who had believed in evolution (he got it from the TV). Many people have not heard any alternative view to evolution, and therefore think it must be true. It reminds me of a wise saying from the Bible in Proverbs 18:17 . So we are providing a public service in informing people of the truth about origins. However, for any that wish to read the original evolutionary articles that we discuss, ample referencing is provided in most articles on our web site.

Of course theories are going to have some uncertainties but there are a lot more certainties than uncertainties!

I don’t see how you can say this when the most basic premises of evolution have been falsified. For example, that the fossil record should look like a phylogenetic tree with a single basic type of life at the bottom, radiating into many different basic types as we move up towards the surface fossils. Contrary to evolutionary expectations, all animal phyla are present in Cambrian rocks, with no new phyla in rocks above the Cambrian. And of course the expectation that life could arise from inorganic chemicals by natural processes is more and more being seen as hopeless. Redi and Pasteur, using experimental science, demonstrated that flies and microbes do not arise spontaneously. This principle undergirds aseptic surgery and the preservation of foods by sterilizing, but evolutionists have doggedly hung onto the belief that life must have arisen spontaneously. There is nothing in (real) science that gives any encouragement to such an idea. See the Q&A section on the Origin of Life. The concept survives because evolution is, at its heart,an attempt to get rid of a Creator. See Darwin’s real message: have you missed it?

I also noticed that you somehow forgot to mention everything that proves there is no god!

Hmm… So, you know everything about the universe, do you? There is no way anyone can prove there is no God, because no one has complete knowledge about everything (except the Creator of course, but then He would not be trying to disprove himself, would he?). This is a dilemma for the atheist, and demonstrates the arrogance of the claim to be an atheist. On the other hand, there is abundant evidence that God exists, for anyone who bothers to seek such evidence. The Creation itself testifies to there being a Creator (Romans 1:20). The observation that everything we have investigated has a beginning and therefore a cause, indicates that there has to be an ultimate cause that had no beginning—the eternal God. See If God Created the Universe, then Who Created God? The atheist is in the most invidious of positions, because he/she has decided there is no evidence to seek and so will not look for it, and, sadly, often claiming at the same time to be ‘open-minded’. See the Q&A page on God for some good, logical arguments for God’s existence.

If evolution isn’t how humans were created, then how were they created?

The Bible claims to be God’s communication (revelation / Word) to us—and there is abundant evidence from within its pages that it is. See Q&A Bible. That being the case, then we can know how mankind came to be—by the will of the Creator Who was there, and Who made the first man and woman specially, ‘in His image’ (Genesis 1:26–27). Genesis 1 and 2 describe how this happened. This makes life pretty special, most unlike the ‘re-arranged pond-scum’ of the atheist.

Do you actually expect me to believe that adam and eve populated the whole world? I don’t think so! If that were true, everyone in the world would be inbred and retarded!

See Where did Cain get his wife? for a complete answer to this old canard.

Another question I read was about atheists who will never be able to prove there is no god because they can’t ever be everywhere in the universe at one time! well i guess christians can’t prove there IS a god then because christians cant be in the whole universe at once either!

Actually, as I alluded to above, it is not possible to prove a universal negative, such as, ‘There is no God,’ but it is possible to disprove this, contrary to your reasoning (and a common example of fallacious reasoning on infidel web sites). All it takes is one manifestation of God to prove His existence. And there have been many manifestations. We see the paramount manifestation of God in the life, death and Resurrection of Jesus—‘God come amongst us’. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. He said anyone who had seen him had seen the Father. In saying this he was either a liar, a lunatic, or He was who he claimed to be—Lord of the Universe. His life bears out that he was not a liar or a lunatic. See also Q&A Jesus Christ. Those who put their trust in Him to save them from God’s just condemnation and wrath because of their sin, receive the Holy Spirit of God, Who is the ultimate manifestation of God for the Christian. I pray, L., that you will submit to God before it is too late. After you die, the Bible says there will be judgment (Hebrews 9:27); it’s too late then.

Sincerely,

Don Batten
